A breathtaking view of the rainbow-coloured sky above the cracked gas separation unit of the Kralupy refinery, which produces a third of the Czech Republic’s oil. Cracking is one of the most important processes used in the petrochemicals industry. It takes place during the production of ethylene by the thermal decomposition of gaseous or liquid hydrocarbons.
