Stronger than Spiderweb Silk

Stronger than Spiderweb Silk

JUTA a.s.

More than a century ago, textile factories for the processing of jute yarn and cotton were built in a small town in the foothills of the Krkonoše Mountains. The textile industry began to develop in earnest in the 1880s and Dvůr Králové nad Labem was called the “Czech Manchester”. Only the JUTA joint-stock company has continued this tradition, which, thanks to the chemicalization and modernization of technologies, and in the 1970s began to produce a wide range of items not only for agriculture, but also construction and technical materials, including artificial turf.

The photo shows the production of netting, in which straw bales in fields around the world is wrapped. Round bales in spider webs create impressive graphic compositions and making them a popular subject for photography. Recently, JUTA has also made significant inroads into markets in South Africa, Chile, Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay.
