The future of energy and the environment, turning away from fossil fuels and focusing on sustainability. This is how this photo of the innovation polygon of the Centre for Energy and Environmental Technologies (CEET) – Explorer (CEETe), VŠB – Technical University of Ostrava, could be characterized.

A year-round energy self-sufficient building having a total of 473 photovoltaic panels with a unique location in the building's facade and an annual output of 90,5 MWh. Wind turbines with a vertical axis of rotation designed specifically for urban development. Energy self-sufficiency optimized with the support of large-capacity battery storage and maximizing the use of rainwater for sanitary purposes and for the irrigation of the green roof and facade. A laboratory of energy sources, hydrogen technologies and thermochemical conversion. This is CEET, a new generation centre combining research and development with cross-sectoral cooperation in the field of sustainable energy, the goal of which is the transfer of innovative technologies to ensure energy self-sufficiency and raw materials independence in Europe.
